To its fans, baseball is more than just a game. It’s a deeply rooted tradition, passed on from one generation to the next. It’s more than remembering the players, teams; it’s about remembering going to the game with your family on a hot summer day. It’s about the passion for your team, living and dying with each victory and loss. Then for the game itself, there’s the mountains of statistics to sift through and analyze to yell out to the players what they should do during game situations. With so many advanced sabermetric formulas continuously being created to gauge a player’s performance and creating enough acronyms (OPS, ISO, UZR, FIP, BABIP, etc) to make any bureaucrat blush, there’s plenty of room in baseball for all kinds of fans, the nostalgic and the statheads. And so our winners have gone on to provide the perfect blend of nostalgia and data analysis to create quality content with the same maximum effort and excellence we expect from our favorite baseball players. You won’t need a PhD. in Statistics to read these blogs but it wouldn’t hurt!
