It’s said music is the universal language, able to communicate through all levels of barriers. It’s also said there’s no accounting for taste! It’s the latter’s counter-culturalism that spawned the continuously evolving indie music movement, from the punk rock of the 70’s-80’s, the grunge era of the 90’s, to Neo-Soul, now Nu Soul, of today. With so many new genres and bands sprouting up everyday, it’s easy to get lost when looking for that specific band or even niche that speaks directly to you. Luckily for the rest of us, an intrepid group of individuals have stepped up to school us mere mortals on the fluid scene. Our winners have strived only for and achieved greatness when disseminating the necessary information to find our own musical nirvanas. So take notes, because class is in session; you might hear something you like.
