Sound
Sound is produced through the oscillation of pressure in the form of a traveling wave. Sound waves pass through solid, liquid or gas and depending on the frequency, it can be heard by organisms. Humans use their ears to sense sound. Humans are capable of hearing sounds in the frequencies between 12 Hz and 20 kHz. Other animals can hear beyond these ranges such as dogs. Modern societies created devices to record and play back sound in the form of music, television and telephone. Check out the videos below to study more about sound.
