Five Features that Make Saint Leo Stand Apart
- Comfort. To ensure that students feel comfortable learning online, Saint Leo University makes the 101 Strategies for Success course a prerequisite in the first term.
- Professional Competence. Many of Saint Leo's online courses are aimed at building professional competence. Students not only learn theory, but practical application as well.
- Anytime/Anywhere. The school has an "anytime/anywhere" credo. Students can set their own weekly schedules. The University allows students to accelerate their studies. Although full-time is two courses per term, the equivalent of 12 credits in a 16-week semester on campus, students are allowed to take an additional course as long as they maintain a 3.0 grade point average. Students with less than a 3.0 can petition with a one-page essay.
- Not a Numbers Game. Saint Leo University Center for Online Learning is interested in its students, not just in numbers. This is evidence by the fact that it began teaching courses through the internet in 1998 with just 12 students.
- Second Life. Saint Leo University offers a Second Life Virtual Campus, where all students, staff, faculty, parents, and friends can come together to explore, interact and collaborate. The island is always in a state of development, so everyone is invited to look for changes on a daily basis.
