Accreditation

Colorado Technical University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The Bachelor of Science degree programs in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering at the Colorado Springs campus are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

The College of Business and Management has been accredited by the Project Management Institute since July 2008.

Academics

CTU Online offers students undergraduate and graduate programs in three colleges:

• College of Business Management
• College of Criminal Justice and Public Administration
• College of Information Systems and Technology

In addition, the College of Health Sciences, provides online undergraduate programs.

CTU also has an online interdepartmental degree program through which students can earn an Associate of Science in General Studies. After completing this program, students can to transition into a Business of Science in Accounting, Business of Science in Business Administration, or Business of Science in Criminal Justice degree programs.

Both Associate and Bachelor degrees are available in a wide range of fields, including:

Admission

Students applying for admission at CTU must (1) submit an online application form with a $50 application fee, (2) interview over the telephone with an admission adviser, and (3) send proof of high school graduation or equivalent (or baccalaureate transcript for prospective graduate students).

Undergraduate candidates for whom English is a second language, must score above 500 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language. Graduate candidates must score more than 550.

Students who are admitted may begin in any of the eight 5.5-week sessions.

1. CTUMobile Program. CTU has a unique mobile access program that enables students to access their class materials on most mobile devices and download course podcasts, view class assignments, download course videos, check their grades, access school email and access faculty information. Students who don't have a mobile phone can still download course podcasts and videos and play them on an iPod, PSP, laptop, or other portable audio/video devices.
2. Masters Advantage Program. CTU also offers the online Master's Advantage Program. This program allows undergraduate students, who are interested in pursuing a masters degree, to substitute two undergraduate courses for two graduate-level classes at the same price as undergraduate level cost-per-credit. Students who take advantage of this program are able to shorten the time frame for completing the designated master degree by 11 weeks, while they save money. To be eligible for this program, students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
3. Academic Certificates. Another feature we like about CTU is that the University offers online students the opportunity to earn academic certificates without the added costs or the need to take additional classes. These certificates are built into almost every curriculum. Through these certificates, students are not only able to add to their knowledge base, but they also become more marketable at the time of graduation.
4. M.U.S.E. M.U.S.E. (My Unique Student Experience) is CTU's cutting-edge learning technology that lets students choose the way they learn best by watching, viewing, reading or hearing. M.U.S.E. provides students with a 24/7 online learning platform that is geared to their schedule, which means students can access their coursework and the school online library around the clock, at their convenience no matter where they live, work or travel. While students are encouraged to attend online lectures, if that is not possible, they can view the recorded lectures after the fact.
5. Career Services Team. CTU's career services staff is ready to assist students in finding the perfect job. In addition, they take the time to teach students independent job search strategies that help prepare students to take charge of their career search. CTU's career services team offer students a variety of consultations and tools to enable them in their career search.
