Online K-12 Schools in Washington
Washington offers online K-12 programs with free tuition. The core classes taught in Washington are art, language arts, science, history, math and physical education. AP classes are available to high school students seeking potential college credit. Students with an individualized education plan are given assistance to tailor their curriculum to fit their needs. Dual enrollment in an online school and another school is allowed, however no student may take the same subject simultaneously. All teachers in these online programs are certified by the state and instruct the mandatory 180 days per school year. Grades 3-8 are required to be tested in the WASL (Washington Assessment of Student Learning) and grade 2 must test in DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills).
