Multiplication is the operation of scaling a single number with another number. Along with addition, subtraction and division, it represents one of the four basic operations in mathematics. By scaling, it simply means counting the same number as many times as the number being multiplied. For example, multiplying 3 x 2 is adding 3 + 3, or two copies of three together.
