Addition is a fundamental operation in mathematics and probably the first lesson children learn in school. Adding is combining groups of objects into a larger group. The universal sign for addition is the (+) symbol. For example, if you have two oranges and want to add three more it would be 2 + 3 = 5. Addition is both commutative and associative. Commutative means the order does not matter and it is associative because when adding more than two numbers the order does not matter. You can add many types of numbers such as fractions, complex numbers and both positive and negative numbers. Below is a selection of videos and resources to help you learn more about addition.
