Crediting / Linking to OnlineSchools.org

Each of the embed codes for our graphics/awards links the image back to the original resource location on OnlineSchools.org. Additionally, the embed code credits OnlineSchools.org as the source of the graphic by putting a link to our website below the image.

You may remove or no-follow the source link, but please do not remove the link back to the graphic as it serves as source attribution.

Additionally, if you feel Online Schools is a great source of information for any of the following, please feel free to modify/add to the embed code source code link with the appropriate anchor text below the graphic:

Online Schools - We are working hard to create a resource for students looking to attend accredited online schools. Take a look around our site, and if you like what you see, consider using this anchor.

Other related anchor texts of keywords we'd love to be great resources for, but are still working on :)

Online School - We like to consider our site a school in its own right. If you think we're a great Online School feel free to use this anchor text. Other related anchor texts for keywords we'd love to be relevant for (actually we think we are!):

Please feel free to link to us with any anchor text you feel is appropriate. You can point that link to the graphic itself or the home page.

You can also add us to your blogroll or link us in any other way using any of the anchor texts listed above or anything you feel is appropriate.

Here is some more information about linking:

Some notes about our linking history with work we did:

In the past we linked to ourselves in embed codes as "Online Schools" within our work as that was our brand name, which it is and which we understood to be 100% acceptable within Google Guidelines - and Google is cool with Linkbait (http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/seo-advice-linkbait-and-linkbaiting/).

In fact, at this point many people googling Online Schools are actually looking for US (kinda cool - we worked hard to establish our brand!).

For one or two works we linked to ourselves with other highly relevant anchor text combinations to what we offer (online school, schools online) but we didn't feel good about this so stopped. From what we knew and still know such linking practices are okay. Based on what we saw at ICanHasCheezburger.com - We spoke with Ben (CEO) who had actually spoken with Matt Cutts about the issue of linking and he understood what we were doing to be okay. Additionally we saw what was going on with Mint.com, the forerunners of infographics and they seemed to be doing the same thing.

After reaching out to anybody and everybody we could within the industry, it came to our attention that we should place OnlineSchools.org into the embed as the default just to play it safe, but people could willingly choose to link to any other keyword they wished if they felt we were an appropriate source for it. We have since been working on increasing our content base and have a massive project in the works that will make us the #1 source (in our opinion) for online education while still being a great source for infographics and the alternative interpretation of 'online schools' we launched with!

Please let us know if you have any questions / concerns or suggestions for our practices.

Also : We never ever have nor will we ever pay for a link to online schools, nor will we sell a link - please don't ask. You can ask us for a link, just as we ask others to consider linking to us if they feel we are worthy of it.
