I've always found online education to be an interesting and charged topic of discussion, so its natural that along my career path I found myself in a job as an enrollment advisor at a major for-profit university. Although I didn't stick with it too long, I learned a tremendous amount about how such universities operate – and saw first hand both the positives and the negatives of their practices.
The guys at Online Schools, when they learned of my experience, reached out to me and offered me a chance to write a piece on the industry. The promised I would be able to present my full, unfiltered, honest take on things and they've remained true to that promise.
My series is broken into four parts:
- The History of Online Education
- How Did Online Education Become What It Is Today?
- The Issues with Online Schools
- The Future of Online Education
Whether you're considering attending an online school or you're just interested in learning about the industry – I hope you'll find my insight useful.
